Looking back, what are you most proud of today?
My greatest source of pride is seeing my team grow together and truly take ownership of what we're building.
Today, everyone owns their area of expertise and delivers work that's far better than anything I could accomplish on my own.
Another incredibly rewarding moment is hearing our customers present our solution at conferences and explain the impact it has had on the way they work. That's when you realize you're creating real value.
And personally, what are you most proud of?
I'm proud that I took the leap.
For a long time, I hesitated before starting. I imagined every possible scenario. Looking back, I'm proud that I made the decision and even more proud that I kept going.
Like every entrepreneur, there are moments when I think life could have been easier if I'd chosen a different path. But I still wake up every morning with the same motivation. That perseverance is probably what I'm proudest of.
And on the other hand, what has been the most challenging?
I set very high expectations for myself.
I always want to do more, and I sometimes struggle with moments when the best thing to do is simply wait. Between meetings, if nothing is urgent, my mind immediately tells me I should be working on something else.
Over time, I've realized that pace can lead to burnout if you're not careful. That's why I believe it's essential to surround yourself with the right people, your family, your community, and professionals who can support you.
Is there a phrase or mantra that guides you?
Yes: Believe.
It's a word my wife and I often come back to during difficult times. I simply remind myself to keep believing in the project and not give up.
I often think about Ted Lasso and its famous "Believe" sign. It's an image that comes back to me often and helps me keep going.
Is there someone who has made a real difference in your journey?
It starts with my parents, my wife, and my children.
Professionally, Louis-Martin Rousseau, who supervised my master's research, played a pivotal role. He was one of the first people to believe in the project. After I finished my master's, he asked me how much I needed to get started, and became our first external investor.
Those first believers often make all the difference.
Was there a meeting or synergy at Ax.c that had a concrete impact?
More than any single connection, it's the community itself that makes the biggest difference.
Being surrounded every day by other founders makes it easy to exchange ideas, share experiences, and learn from one another. That kind of proximity is hard to find elsewhere.
I've also built great relationships with Sleiman from Josephine Care and Elisabeth from BetaLab. We've known each other since Centech and still regularly exchange ideas. Those conversations are always valuable.
Finally: what motivates you to get up in the morning?
My team. And the problem we're trying to solve.
That's what keeps me moving forward every single day.
One last word?
If this interview inspires even one person to take the leap into entrepreneurship, I'll be very happy.
I enjoy sharing my experience with people who want to start a company. I regularly speak with students at Concordia and Polytechnique Montréal, and I'm always happy to connect on LinkedIn to answer questions, share advice, or simply talk about the day-to-day realities of entrepreneurship.
